"After spending any amount of time in a European pub, it is easy to feel like such a newbie on the planet as a U.S. citizen. I remember one instance from a pub in Ireland that had been built in the 1600s, when I realized how long ago those stones had been set, I vowed to never drink a lame drink at a restaurant chain again, but to set out for some places with real character.
